You probably identify yourself with your BODY. Without it, you could not be reading this. So, lets say that your body is your centre, from which you experience your life and your world.
From that centre, take a look inwards. Probably, the first thing you notice is "thoughts in your head"; your MIND. There may be lots of background noise in there. But you can probably pick out some sort of logic and reason through which you come to know, interpret and believe all sorts of things.
Look deeper than the level of your mind, and you will find things that are somewhat less logical; powerful feelings and emotions that may sometimes drive you way beyond reason. Let's call this deeper level your HEART.
Is there anything there if you look deeper still? Well, if you are reading this blog, I am sure you will have some sense of there being "something" there. We all sense it in different ways. It is difficult to describe because our language is based on our experience "out there" rather than what is hidden "in here". In other posts, we'll have a go at undestanding what this is, but for now let us call it SPIRIT or SOURCE.

No point in looking any deeper. The level we have reached is already so hazy. So, let's return to your centre, your physical body, and this time look outwards.
The first thing you see is a world, not of thoughts, but of things. All the stuff you need to live: food, clothes, your home, all your possessions.
In addition to your personal WEALTH, the world is full of an abundant wealth of resources. With this wealth of resouces, you do things: in your work, in your hobbies, in your sports... Whatever catches your interest, you can be CREATIVE and find all sorts of ways to enjoy it more.
And also "out there" you find lots of people. The people you do creative things with. The people you do things for, and who do things for you. These range from your closest loved ones to complete strangers in places you have never heard of. All are "in the same boat" with you, so let's call this outer level your COMMUNITY (literally, "with unity" or "unity with").

Now, how deep does that unity go?
Pick absolutely anyone from your COMMUNITY ... any BODY from anywhere in the whole world ... and look deep into their eyes. Behind those physical eyes, there is a MIND (probably wondering what on earth you are looking at). Deeper than that, you will find a HEART full of passionate feelings. Deeper still, you will find that person's SPIRIT or SOURCE.
And ultimately, there is only One Source. Think about that. Think about it often. The above sequence serves as a powerful meditation that can lead you to deeper and deeper understanding of yourself. Through it, I found rock-solid peace of mind. I hope you do, too.
